Back to Cosmetic procedures. Having a breast enlargement is a big decision. It's major surgery, the results are not guaranteed and there are some risks to think about. There are some circumstances where you might be able to get breast enlargement on the NHS — for example, if you have very uneven breasts or no breasts. It often depends on the area you live in. Your GP should be able to tell you more about the rules in your area.
Do implants have an expiry date? You may also wish to have them changed for a different size — or removed altogether — for purely aesthetic reasons. What to Expect in the Days and Weeks after Breast Augmentation Surgery
Objectives: The authors report 2-year data from a year US clinical trial evaluating the safety and effectiveness of this investigational implant. Methods: Women seeking primary breast augmentation or replacement of existing augmentation implants were enrolled between February and February at 35 private practice sites, where the women underwent surgery to receive the new technology implant. Data collection included incidence and grade of capsular contracture CC and wrinkling as well as patient- and surgeon-reported satisfaction measures. All clinical data were reported as Kaplan-Meier risk rates of first occurrence, per patient, in each cohort.
Many women who have a mastectomy—surgery to remove an entire breast to treat or prevent breast cancer—have the option of having the shape of the removed breast rebuilt. Women who choose to have their breasts rebuilt have several options for how it can be done. Breasts can be rebuilt using implants saline or silicone. They can also be rebuilt using autologous tissue that is, tissue from elsewhere in the body.
